About ICMC23
The 2023 International Cryptographic Module Conference will gather cryptographic professionals in Ottawa to address the evolving landscape of commercial cryptography and cybersecurity. The conference will build upon a decade of cybersecurity thought leadership, focusing on the challenges posed by emerging threats and changes in the industry.
One significant development is the introduction of post-quantum algorithms, necessitating extensive implementation efforts. Additionally, the rollout of the new FIPS 140-3 standard as the accepted certification for secure cryptographic modules is ongoing, alongside European regulators’ progress in related cybersecurity standards. Efforts to maintain the security of open-source solutions and explore new approaches to entropy will be discussed. The event facilitates collaboration among over 400 industry leaders from 27 countries, with a focus on standards such as FIPS 140-3, ISO/IEC 19790, eEIDAS, PCI, and Common Criteria. Key topics covered include physical security, key management, quantum threats, algorithm testing, government policy, and more.
